In our last post, we covered the new module-based construction system that was added to the Anno 1800 season pass. What we didn’t cover was everything that is included in the season pass. We showed you new buildings, landmarks, and ships, but not the new features. As you can see, Anno 1800 will also include an enormous amount of new content.
Anno 1800 is a grand strategy game from the developers of the Anno series. In Anno 1800, players lead a faction of up to ten characters in a procedurally-generated, steampunk-inspired city. The game features a story mode, multiplayer mode, and a sandbox mode.
Anno 1800 is a game series on Nival’s website that has over 500,000 registered users. It’s on Steam, Origin, GOG, and Itch.io, and you can play it via web browser. Anno 1800 comes with a game editor that lets you create mods on Steam Workshop.
Last year, Ubisoft revealed that Anno 1800 will get a third season of DLC, and now we know more about what we can anticipate. Unlike its predecessors, Anno 1800 Season 3 will not take players to new places across the globe; instead, it will serve as a “homecoming” and extend the basic game’s Old World session.
Anno 1800 Season Pass 3 will include three DLCs, including a modular port area, visitors, and skyscrapers, and is aptly titled Coming Home. These main packs will be followed by lesser cosmetic DLC, which is great news for gamers who like dressing up their towns.
Season Pass 3 for Anno 1800
Before we get into the details of the announced additions, let’s have a look at the release dates for each of the DLC packs featured in Anno 1800’s Season 3 Pass:
- DLC 1 for Anno 1800 Season 3: Docklands The film will be released on February 23, 2021.
- Season 3 Tourist Season (DLC 2) will be released on May 25, 2021.
- Season 3 DLC 3: The High Life will be released on August 31, 2021.
Docklands is the first DLC.
DLC 1 focuses on the eponymous Docklands, which open the way for your towns to build a new modular warehouse area. It “not only enables you to fully rebuild your harbor, but also provides you access to import/export contracts,” since it was inspired by the Speicherstadt in real-life Hamburg. The latter allows you to sell products more reliably while diversifying your economy. There are also several harbor-themed decorations included in the DLC.
The new contract kinds will be shown in the Statistics menu’s Storage tab, along with a summary of the ones Captain Tobias has completed. According to Ubisoft, imported and exported products will not be shown on the Production tab, as they do in normal commerce.
The DLC will bring the new Harbor street type, which will enable structures to be built on the water. They should offer adequate avenues to more effectively utilize harbor area when combined with the Docklands’ more space-efficient modules. On the same subject, the developer will not expand the islands’ port area since it would have a negative effect on balance and stability.
You’ll be able to import items from DLC like Land of the Lions, with the goal of providing some kind of connection between Season 3’s DLC and others that came before it.
DLC 2: Tourist Season
Tourist Season is the second Anno 1800 Season 3 DLC, and its name gives away what it’s all about. Tourists are introduced as a new residential stratum. They want to remain longer in your cities than current visitors, which is why you’ll need to construct hotels to adequately accommodate them.
Tourists have their own set of requirements, which you can partially provide by constructing restaurants and additional structures that can manufacture products depending on recipes. Restaurants are popular destinations for tourists, but they will also be visited by local residents, potentially reducing consumption of specific products such as beer or bread.
The bus system connects everything by easing tourist transportation between the city’s key attractions while also providing another layer of logistics. If you can attract enough tourists, you’ll be able to construct a new landmark in the style of the Eiffel Tower.
The High Rise (DLC 3)
DLC 3, The High Rise, brings Anno 1800’s Season 3 to a close, but instead of extending farther over your island, you’ll have to construct modular buildings for your Investors. “Of course, growing buildings come with rising wants,” says the Season 3 blog post, “so you should anticipate your Investors to acquire an interest in commercial products produced in the new Multi-Factory, which they will be able to purchase in your Malls.”
The Empire Tower, the game’s tallest building, will also be included in the final DLC, as well as a redesigned score panel that will better showcase community records.
The buildings in Season 3 may be expanded over five levels, each adding a module that boosts their size, maximum population, and amount of demands its inhabitants have, according to the developer. You can swap modules even after they’ve been created, as long as you don’t move to a larger module that sits on top of a smaller one. Larger buildings have higher maintenance expenses, although there are methods to mitigate this.
The Anno 1800’s Season 3 Pass costs €19,99/$19,99 and is available now. You’ll also receive the Cyclopean Anchor, Traveler’s Kiosk, and Endless Skies Memorial decorations if you buy it. Its three DLCs are also sold separately.
