Brown, 24, is coming off his first season as an All-Star. On 48.4 percent shooting, the 6-foot-6 forward had a career-high 24.7 points per game. Brown, on the other hand, was restricted to just 58 games after ripping a ligament in his wrist in May, which kept him out of Boston’s first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets.
Brown is currently thought to be vaccinated. “I have my own views about it, but I respect my teammates’ choices and stuff like that,” the former Cal Golden Bear told reporters last month when questioned about getting the vaccination. I understand that everyone has an opinion on the subject, but I believe it is a personal decision.”

Brown isn’t the only Celtic whose coronavirus test came back positive. Ime Udoka, the squad’s head coach, recently tested positive for HIV and had to spend time in isolation before rejoining the team shortly before training camp. Last season, star forward Jayson Tatum was forced to use an inhaler after a particularly bad case of the disease.
“I mean, it’s your choice,” Tatum, who has been vaccinated, added. “I completely appreciate the worries of individuals who haven’t been vaccinated and don’t want to be, as well as those who have been vaccinated.” It’s for your own personal reasons and wellbeing. Nobody should be condemned in any manner, regardless of their choice.”
Other Celtics have expressed their opinions on the vaccination as well.
“Being told what you can and can’t do with your own body is difficult,” Marcus Smart remarked. “Everyone, in my view, has the right to their own opinion.” I decided to be vaccinated because, to be honest, I didn’t want to deal with the nonsense. But it was my choice, and I support anybody who makes their own decision to do what they believe is best for them.”
Josh Richardson also told the reporters, “That topic is very personal.” “I’ve sort of spoken with my family and circle about what I’m going to do and what I’m not going to do, so I’m not sure.” But I believe it’s wonderful that people are continuing to educate themselves on the topic, and I’m not sure what the future holds.”
Brown’s absence would be detrimental to the Celtics.
Brown’s asymptomatic status is fantastic news. Hopefully, the skilled scorer will be back in time for Boston’s season opener on October 20 against the New York Knicks.
Last season, the 24-year-last old’s game was on May 2. The Celtics went on to lose five of their next seven games after that. The Celtics went on to win their play-in game against the Washington Wizards, courtesy to Tatum’s 50-point performance. However, the season came to a close with a four-game series loss to the Nets in the playoffs.
Simply stated, the Celtics will need both Brown and Tatum to be outstanding once again. With additions like Dennis Schroder and Al Horford, Boston will be a difficult team to beat. However, whether Boston is an Eastern Conference contender or a play-in round regular will be determined by its biggest players.
